I was in Plainfield, Indiana for a class the other week, and i had gone tothe bookstore in this mall and was amazed at how neat this mall looked. this was during the day when i saw it. i got permission and went back at night and was amazed. the lights kept changing and it was a fascinating place. i had never seen such a light show at a mall. here are some photos that i took from it. most of the exposure times are iso:100 speed: 3 to 5 seconds at f9 to f11.

So I Shot something... Ugly....
This is the old Woolry Stone COmpany on Tapp Road in Bloomington Indiana. I was out and about and thought I might try to get it. I chased the sun, and got there just at the right time, set up the tripod and went to town. Thoughts anyone?

I have gotten several comments asking why i say it is ugly. Quite the contrary, I think its beautiful. I called it ugly because it stood empty and abandoned for years, and recently began to be rebuilt.

As an interesting side note, my grandmother worked as a waitress, and served a lot of the guys that used to work here. Thought that was kinda neet.

Alien Skin Software - Exposure
This is one hell of a add on for photoshop. I recently played with it, and fell in love. One of the things that I fight with is trying to get the most of the images, while trying to get a look that is not fake. This gives me such a range that... it can cut my workflow time down by leaps and bounds. It is worth checking out.

Went to the zoo - wow! I did not even know that there was a dolphin exibit there - ok, so its been a while since I have been to the Indianapolis Zoo. I had a blast to say the least.

Here is where the rest of the photos are at.

After spending the day up there I have come to the conclusion that i need another lens, and to spend a bunch more time shooting.
Some of the highlights that I saw:
where to begin...
The walrus exhibit was really neat- they each had a lot of spunk and querks - quite a bunch of characters.

The Eagle - ok, so this may sound really weird, but I could have spent a lot more time watching and trying to capture the right image. I felt a... power as odd as it may seem surrounding it.

The small birds were demanding, and funny. Two of the birds seem to enjoy posing, and kept demanding more photos.

The desers exhibit had a bunch of great photo ops.

The dolphins - I can't say enough about how enjoyable it was watching the show.

Overall, I would have to say that the zoo was one of the most fun times that I have had shooting lately.

There might just be another reason I had so much fun, but that is a story for another time...

on a side note... I did get to stop on the way home at Shapiros and pick up munchies for a tasty treat later that night.
